For today's Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop, Stampin' Up Demonstrators from around the world will share non-card project with you. I decided to create a gift bag using the Ice Cream Corner Designer Series paper and a legal size envelope. I got this ideas from Jesica Jones who made a gift bag using washi tape and an A-2 size envelope.
Here is a picture of the final product.
Here are the steps for making the Ice Cream Corner Gift Bag:
1) Seal a legal size envelope and cut a sliver of paper from the end of just one of the small side of the envelope with a paper trimmer or scissors. This will be the opening of your gift bag.
2) Cut 7 pieces of Ice Cream Corner Designer Series paper at 1" x 8.5" and scored at 4.125". Arrange the cut pieces so the pattern is in sequence (see photo # 1).
3) Attach the 7 pieces of Ice Cream Corner Designer Series paper using your favorite adhesive. Align the first piece of paper at the top where the opening is located. Then attach each piece leaving 1/4" space between each piece. This will leave you 1.0" of white space at the closed end of the envelope (see photo #2).
4) Use your scoring tool and score 1/2" on each side and 1" at the bottom of the gift bag. Use your bone folder to make good folds on each of the score lines (see photo #3).
5) Open up the bag and push out the sides. You will have two pointed pieces at the bottom of the bag. See the side view on photo #4.
6) Fold the two triangle pieces so they make the bottom of the box. Attach Goregous Grape Sheer Ribbon to the bottom of bag, up one side, down the other side, and secured at the bottom again using glue dots (see photo #5)
6) Attach a small piece of Ice Cream Corner (1.0" x 4.125" to cover the two triangle pieces and the Gorgeous Grape Sheer Ribbon using tear tape (see photo #6).
7) Make a label using Stitched Nested Dies and Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine to cut out a shape using Daffodil Delight cardstock.
8) Make sentiment of "happy birthday" using the Well Written Dies and Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine using Gorgeous Grape cardstock which is attached to a piece of adhesive sheet.
9) Attach a piece of Gorgeous Grape Sheer Ribbon to the back of the label using your favorite adhesive.
10) Attach the label with sentiment to the gift bag using dimensionals (see photo of final product).

ReplyDeleteAwesome gift bag. I love how you used the strips of paper, that is so good to remember for the 6" x 6" paper so they can be used for bags like this too.
