Thanksgiving Day Fun

 Sea Ranch Turkey Trot

A member of our small community organized an "unofficial" 5K Turkey Trot event that started at 8:30am on Thanksgiving Day. A number of our family members decided to get some exercise before a day of eating! My 87-year-old mom stayed home and watched the Thanksgiving Parade on TV.

Approximately 37 people showed up at the starting line - runners, joggers, and walkers!

Our son, Will and his girlfriend, Sarah are serious runners so they stretched out with bands before the event.

My sister, Julie, my husband, David, and I all decided that walking was more our style.

Along the 3-mile course we discovered a Turkey Man helping to direct traffic so of course my sister, Julie and I needed to have our photo taken with him!

Here are the top three running finishers.  Nate (center) took 1st place, person from LA took 2nd place, and our son, Will (person of left) came in 3rd. Sarah (not in photo) came in 4th.  They had a wonderful time.

Great Thanksgiving Day Memories! I trust you had a wonderful day with family and friends!

Happy Stamping!

Casually Crafting Design Team Blog Hop - November 2021

The Casually Crafting Design Team is a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world, gathered together to share our passion for creativity with you. Our focus is to bring you inspiration featuring projects that are easy to create while still packing a powerful creative punch. The projects are made with a few products, making them ideally suited to a beginner or casual crafter. From time-to-time, we may also include a project that is stepped-up for the added wow-factor.

This month we are all designing cards based on a Color Challenge featuring Basic Black, Basic Grey, and Basic White. My card features the Peaceful Place Designer Series paper, Christmas To Remember Stamp Set, and cardstock (Basic Black and Basic White).

To Make This Card
  • Make A Gate Card Base by cutting a 4.25" x 11.0" piece of Basic Black cardstock and scoring each end at 2.75". Use your bone folder to make a crisp fold on the score lines.
  • Cut out two 2.5" x 4.0" of Peaceful Place Designer Series paper. This paper has Silver Foil embedded in the design of the snowflakes. My photo does not highlight the true beauty of this paper.
  • Attach the two pieces of Peaceful Place Designer Series paper to the flaps of the gate card using your favorite adhesive.
  • Cut out a 3.5" x 3.5" piece of Basic Black cardstock.
  • Cut out a 3.25" x 3.25" pieces of Peaceful Place Designer Series paper that has the trees that are embossed with Silver Foil.
  • Stamp the "Season's Greetings" sentiment from the Christmas To Remember Stamp Set using Basic Black ink.
  • Attach the designer series paper to the Basic Black cardstock using your favorite adhesive.
  • Attach the left-hand side of the Basic Black cardstock to the left-hand flap using dimensionals. NOTE: Only place the dimensionals on the left-hand side because you want the card to open.
  • Add a few rhinestones to the front of the card.

Inside the Card:

  • Cut out a 4.0" x 5.25" piece of Basic White cardstock.
  • Cut out a 1.0" x 4.0" of Peaceful Place Designer Series paper.
  • Attach the designer series paper to the left-hand side of the Basic White cardstock.
  • Stamp the "Love & Joy Come To You And May It Last The Whole Year Through" sentiment from the Christmas To Remember Stamp Set using Basic Black ink.
  • Attach the Basic White cardstock to the inside of the card using your favorite adhesive.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog - Sea Ranch Creations. I hope my card will provide you some inspiration to make Holiday cards using Designer Series Paper and cardstock with a few embellishments.  Please make sure you check out all the wonderful cards made by our design team.

Creativity Abounds Design Team Blog Hop - November 2021

Welcome To Our November Gift Packaging Blog Hop! We're all excited to share some wonderful ideas and tips to make your gift giving a little easier this year.  I hope you are inspired to try to make some of these projects!

We are now a 14 member Design Team - welcome back Narelle we missed you!

I'm sharing a gift box that is so quick and easy to make I know you're going to love it! Imagine all the beautiful Stampin' Up! holiday papers you can use to brighten up your holiday gift giving. The finished box is 4" x 5" x 2.25" OR  10.2 cm x 12.7 cm x 5.7 cm.

You'll need the following supplies:

  •     Trimmer with Scoring Blade OR Scoring Board
  •     Bottom of Box - Cardstock 8.5" x 9.5" scored on all sides at 2.25. Metric measurements are 21.6 cm x 24.2 cm scored on all sides at 5.7 cm.
  •     Top of Box - Painted Christmas Designer Series paper 7.0625" x               8.0625" scored on all sides at 1.5"  (Note .0625 = 1/16th). Metric measurements are 17.9 cm x 20.5 cm scored on all sides at 3.8 cm.
  •     Christmas To Remember Stamp Set - select the sentiment you like best
  •     Seasonal Labels Dies - select the label to go with the sentiment you selected
  •     Real Red Ink
  •     Evening Evergreen Ribbon
  •     2021-2023 In Color Jewels
  •     Adhesives - multi purpose glue or Tear & Tape as well as dimensionals and glue dots

To Make The Gift Box:
  • For both the bottom and top of the box, use your paper snips to cut up to the first score line on the four sides of the box (see photo below)
  • Use multi purpose glue or Tear & Tape if you plan to put something heavy in the box to secure the 4 flap on both the top and bottom of the box.
  • The top should fit nicely over the bottom of the box.
  • Now you just need to select the sentiment and cut out the label that works best with your sentiment. I selected Christmas to Remember and the Seasonal Labels Dies and stamped with Real Red.
  • Attach the sentiment to the front of the box using dimensionals
  • Add a few In Color Jewels.
  • Tie a bow and attach to the front of the box using glue dots

I hope you've enjoyed my project and thank you for visiting my blog - Sea Ranch Creations. Please check out all the other wonderful projects by my awesome team members.

Happy Stamping!
