Random Acts of Kindness - Send Cards

Dear Card Making Friends

Brighten someone's day with a beautiful card! I'm  encouraging you to take your love of card making and to share it with others. You can select family members, friends, or complete strangers!  There are many people who are without family during the Holidays. Consider giving cards to your local senior center,  nursing home,  fire department, or hospitals for health care providers and patients.

Here is a sample of the Holiday cards I'm taking to the Coastal Seniors in my local community. These wonderful seniors have no family who live near by and are totally confined to their residence due to the pandemic.  I'll be tucking a holiday card into each of the 45 Meals on Wheels lunches on Monday.

If you join this request, please email me a photo of the card(s) you mailed and who you shared your love with. I'll post the photos in next Wednesday's post.

It's a win-win as we get to enjoy making cards with beautiful materials and we get to brighten up someone's day.

Happy Stamping!

Monthly Blog Hop (November 2020)

Welcome to the November Blog Hop

This month I'm featuring the Beautiful Autumn Bundle with images by Stampin' Up! Thanksgiving is a very special celebration for our family so I decided to create cards to send to my family on the east coast.

The Beautiful Autumn Bundle is the perfect set to celebrate the Fall colors and Thanksgiving. The Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series paper provides the perfect color pallet for creating these cards!

To make this card

  • Cut a piece of Cajun Craze cardstock at 4.25" x 11.0", score at 2.75" and 8.25". This is your based card and you will want the card in a vertical orientation.
  • Cut a 4.0" x 5.25" piece of Mint Macaroon cardstock to be used as your Layer 1.
  • Attach only the top half of Layer 1 to the top flap of the base card with your favorite adhesive. NOTE: Do not put adhesive everywhere because you want the card to open.
  • Cut a 3.75" x 5.0" piece of Very Vanilla cardstock to be Layer 2 of your card.
  • Emboss the Very Vanilla cardstock with the Wrapped in Texture Embossing folder.
  • Attach two thin strips of paper from Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series paper pack on each side of the embossed Very Vanilla cardstock.
  • Attach the Very Vanilla cardstock (Layer 2) to the Mint Macaroon cardstock (Layer 1).
  • Use the large wreath die from the Arrange A Wreath bundle, the Stampin' Up Cut and Emboss Machine, and Soft Suede cardstock to cut out the large wreath.
  • Use the smaller leaf wreath die from the Arrange A Wreath bundle, the Stampin' Up Cut and Emboss Machine, and Crumb Cake cardstock to cut out the smaller leaf wreath.
  • Attach the two wreaths to the upper part of the Very Vanilla cardstock (Layer 2).
  • Stamp the "Thankful for You" sentiment from the Autumn Goodness stamp set onto Very Vanilla cardstock using Cajun Craze ink.
  • Use the leaf and acorn punches from the Beautiful Autumn Bundle to cut out matching designs from the Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series paper.
  • Attach the punched out designer series papers on top of the smaller leaf wreath with dimensionals.
  • Make a bow out of Mint Macaroon ribbon
  • Attach the bow to the bottom of the wreath with dimensionals.
Inside the Card
  • Cut out a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock to 4.0" x 5.25"
  • Attach a double strip of the same striped paper you used on the front of the card.
  • Attach the Very Vanilla cardstock into the inside of the card.

If you want to purchase any of the products highlighted in blue above, I'd be honored if you purchased them through my on-line store in the SHOP NOW link above. If you use the November host code, CZBUWTCC, I will send you a card tutorial as a Thank You gift.

Autumn Mega Tutorial Bundle

A few months ago I created a card for the Autumn Tutorial Bundle. The bundle was created by 82 demonstrators from across the world and contains 82 different card designs with pictures and instructions. You can only get the Autumn Tutorial Bundle from someone who created one of the cards. A portion of my card is displayed as the last card on the right on the top row in the image below.

So how can you get the Autumn Tutorial Bundle?

If you order $50 or more during the month of November and use the Host Code CZBUWTCC when you check out, I will email you the Autumn Tutorial Bundle as a Thank You Gift.

If you don’t want to order anything, you can order the Autumn Tutorial Bundle for $21 – just email me at ses@aquarius.family, pay the fee, and I’ll send you the 4 pdf files needed to make all 82 cards.

Happy Stamping!

Monthly Blog Hop (October 2020)

Welcome to the October Blog Hop!

Last month I started a Monthly Mystery Card session with my customers.  I provided them with a list of card requirements and specific measurements that they need to use to make 4 different cards. Everyone used whatever cardstock, designer series paper, inks, and stamp sets. We shared our cards on-line via a zoom call.  We were all amazed that even with the exact paper measurements and requirements we made such different cards. Each month one person we will draw one person's name and they will  receive a gift package with Stampin' Up products. Please let me know if you want to join us by emailing me at ses@aquarius.family.

Here is one of the cards I made using basic cardstock and the Positive Thoughts stamp set:

Since some folks asked about the other cards I made for the monthly Mystery Card, I decided to post the other three cards below.  All four cards were made with the same paper measurements and the Positive Thoughts stamp set. You can use plain cardstock, embossed cardstock, stamped cardstock, and/or designer series paper.

Thank you for visiting my blog today. You are currently on my page - Susan Schultz, Sea Ranch Creations, USA and I would really appreciate it if you could leave a comment below. Saturday Scraps with Susan (September 26, 2020)

This week I've been designing Fall and Thanksgiving cards using the Gilded Autumn designer series paper and the Forever Ferns bundle and the Gather Together stamp set. I cut scraps of the Gilded Autumn designer series paper and Mint Macaron cardstock on an angle to make the background for this card.

To make the rest of this card:

  • I attached the strips to a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and then adhered that to a mat made with a piece of Cajun Craze cardstock.
  • I stamped the "Season of Thanks" sentiment from the Gather Together stamp set onto a strip of Very Vanilla cardstock using Cajun Craze ink.
  • I selected two leave stamps from the Forever Ferns stamp set and stamped them into a scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock using Cajun Craze ink and Mint Macaron ink.
  • I cut out the leaves using the Forever Flourishing dies and attached them to a piece of Early Expresso cardstock cut out with the Everyday Label punch.
  • I attached the center piece to the strip of Very Vanilla cardstock using dimensionals.
  • Finally, I added a bow made out of Mint Macaron ribbon
I hope you like the card. If you wish to purchase any supplies, I hope you will use my on-line store as I truly appreciate your business.
